For me it was last weekend for the first time in this year seriously. The Winter Cup of Kerpen kart clubs traditionally opened the karting season. It was the first test of strength after meinemUmstieg in the X30 junior class.
Even in free practice I could show my talent and drove the same morning in the top 5 of the strong field of participants. This performance also reflected the hopes and wishes of my team boss Michael Wangard of RMW Motorsport, and all fans, the fever with me, mourn and celebrate again. With eighth place in qualifying I was, as the youngest pilot of X30 junior class, not satisfied and tried quickly to focus on the three upcoming races. A collision after two rounds in the first run threw me back end of the field, before I over 13 Rounds ranked 15 could ancestors.
From the eighth row of the grid of the second race I started in, where I could shine with strong and deliberate overtaking. At the end I struggled up ten positions forward and came in fifth. I defended this position in the third race, so Ichin the daily standings with fifth even could take a trophy home.
